NERVE TESTING
EMG/NCS testing consists of two distinct tests that evaluate muscle and nerve health.
Neuromuscular disorders can cause muscles to react abnormally, leading to pain and limitations. During an Electromyogram (EMG), a small pin is inserted in the
muscle to evaluate its condition by measuring electrical activity while the muscle is at rest and during contraction.
Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) evaluate nerve health. Mild electrical stimulation is administered to the skin directly over the affected nerve. The response is measured by electrodes applied to the skin surface, which produces a visual signal that can provide information about the condition of the nerve.
